The Great Plains Tribal Disease Intervention Training Center (GP‑TDITC) aims to strengthen Tribal public health capacity by training a knowledgeable and skilled workforce to respond to infectious disease outbreaks like the syphilis epidemic. The program focuses on building skills for disease intervention services (DIS), case investigation, and outbreak response to protect our communities across the Great Plains Area while emphasizing tradition and collaboration.
Services Offered:
- Disease Intervention Specialist (DIS) Training and Certification
- Community Responsive and Adapted Training Materials
- Online Learning Modules or In-Person training.
- Shadowing Opportunities
- STI Testing and Treatment Training
- Quality Improvement and Evaluation – Collect data, monitor progress, and adapt training based on feedback to ensure appropriateness and effectiveness.
Criteria For Program:
- Tribal and Tribal-serving public health professionals.
- Tribal or Tribal-serving clinicians for STI testing and treatment training.
Training can be hosted in Rapid City or brought to your community by request.
