Great Plains Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program – Honor Every Woman
The program works in tribal communities in the Great Plains region to increase breast and cervical cancer screening services for uninsured and underinsured women, remove structural barriers in health systems, and support early detection and treatment.
Services Offered:
- Breast and cervical cancer screenings (Oyate Health Center)
- Patient navigation and support services
- Education on cancer risks and prevention.
Criteria For Program:
- American Indian/ Alaska Native
- Uninsured (do not have private insurance or health care coverage)
- Underinsured clients (current insurance does not fully cover screening and diagnostic services)
- 40-64 years old (Mammography)
- 21-64 years (Pap Tests);
- Low income- At or below the 250% of the federal poverty level (Figure 3)
